‹DIY› Finished the circle scarf. Turned out to be a bit wide, but it was a fast experience, so I may repeat with a shorter needle hoop. Actually finishing this was more or less the focus of the day. I did spend the workday at the office, meaning getting ready and commuting to the office obviously changed the dynamic of the day.

‹MOVIES› I rewatched Constantine while I was knitting. I remembered it being more frightening, but maybe my multitasking eased the tension of it. Still, Lucifer’s character design rocks! Then I browsed for some youtube videos that did not need my full attention while working on the scarf. So I ended up on youtube and found Lucas Blue’s pretty neat channel of movie analysis, (I watched the clips on Pluribus, Frankenstein & Hamnet). Obviously it was because of Hamnet that youtube’s algorithm recommended the channel. I’m pretty riding my Hamnet-high still: I watched a longer interview with Jessie Buckley. I particularly adored that she spoke about her 17 years old self with such gentle acceptance. I should learn that from her. But what is truly infuriating that she can sing, too. This Sinead O’Connor tribute is sooo wonderful. Later in the evening I ended up watching Critics’ Choice Awards winner’s opening monologue and speeches (these should have their own genre especially the teary eyed acceptance speeches).

<MUSIC> From music POV it was not an outstanding day… As much as I love Deftones it saddens me to say that their new album is mediocre. No highlights, no babymakers. I tried to learn to love the album when it was released in August ’25, and I tried it now, too and failed miserably. Then I played a coupled of songs again from Implosion by The Bug while working. It had no impact on me. The same goes for Stochastic Drift by Barker which was second of Pitchfork’s best electronic albums of ’25. Well, why the fuck I’m reading Pitchfork. Valid question.

‹BOOK› I kinda forced myself to reach for the book. I read 30 pages from Carrington’s The Hearing Trumpet. It was getting increasingly surreal, no surprise in that though. I was not a fan, cause again I just wanted to close the day productively I’d say.

‹SPORTS› I’m proud of myself that early in the morning I went out for a run (in a gym on a treadmill to be fair, it’s freezing outside!).
